Harmont Labs

Harmont Labs is an independent AI research and engineering company based at The Workshop in Folkestone. We help start-ups, businesses and research institutions with machine learning problems that need real technical depth, from a first prototype through to a system running in production.

The company is led by Adam Ward, an AI engineer with an MSc in Artificial Intelligence and eight years of experience across scientific research, defence, sensing and automated driving. His background includes building neural network prediction systems and modernising research software, and designing models for noisy sensor data.

Every project has a defined deliverable and a clear finish line, agreed before work begins. That might be a proof-of-concept to test whether an approach is viable, a production build for something already proven, or ongoing engineering support for an existing system. We also run talks and workshops for schools, universities and community groups.
